Housing and Environmental Design Studio / Laboratory is specializing FIELD ARCHITECTURE, RE-DSIGN OF THE COMMUNITY, CONSERVATION OF CULTURAL LANDSCAPE, in School of Architecture, Shibaura Institute of Technology Tokyo. The Lab. aims at understanding interaction between architecture and human being especially focusing on vernacular ways of housing and dwelling world wide and presenting the new ways how to make use of it in the current context and for the further sustainable development of the community.

トヨタ財団の活動助成により、2年間にわたって、タイとラオスの農村で、伝統的木造民家の維持、保存、それに利活用までを視野に入れた活動を開始しました。タイでは、チェンマイのTHN村、ラオスではルアンパバーンのNYT村が対象になります。カウンターパートは、それぞれ、チェンマイ大学のプラノム先生、スラサワード先生、坂本さん、ラオス国立大学のピシット先生、ミー先生、トンワンさんです。
