Workshop/ Tokyo Re-Design
2025年6月5日から15日にかけて、芝浦工業大学豊洲キャンパスおよび東京理科大学野田キャンパスにおいてTokyo Re-Design Workshopを開催した。本ワークショップは2024年に続く2回目の開催である。芝浦工業大学、シンガポール国立大学、東京理科大学、名古屋市立大学から、建築・環境・構造といった異なる分野の63名の学生と11名の教員が集い、分野横断的かつ国際的な視点から設計に取り組んだ。
本ワークショップでは、日本の伝統的な公共浴場である銭湯をテーマとし、その文化的・社会的価値を現代において再解釈することを課題とした。かつて地域コミュニティの中心であった銭湯を、共生やシェアといった現代的なライフスタイルと結びつけながら、新たな空間のあり方を探求した。
期間中は、教員やゲスト講師の指導のもと活発な講評や議論が行われ、異なる文化や専門性を背景にした意見交換が展開された。また、スタジオ外での東京での体験を通して学生同士の交流も深まり、設計力のみならず国際的な視野や協働力を養う機会となった。

The Tokyo Re-Design Workshop was held from June 5 to 15, 2025, at the Toyosu Campus of Shibaura Institute of Technology and the Noda Campus of Tokyo University of Science. This workshop marked its second edition following its inaugural session in 2024. A total of 63 students and 11 faculty members from diverse fields—including architecture, environmental studies, and structural engineering—gathered from Shibaura Institute of Technology, the National University of Singapore, Tokyo University of Science, and Nagoya City University to engage in design through an interdisciplinary and international perspective.
The workshop focused on sento, traditional Japanese public bathhouses, as its central theme, exploring how their cultural and social values can be reinterpreted in a contemporary context. Once serving as important hubs of local communities, sento were reexamined in relation to modern lifestyles characterized by co-living and sharing, leading to proposals for new forms of communal space.
Throughout the program, active reviews and discussions were conducted under the guidance of faculty members and guest lecturers, fostering exchanges shaped by diverse cultural and disciplinary backgrounds. In addition, experiences outside the studio in Tokyo further encouraged interaction among participants, providing opportunities to develop not only design skills but also a broader international perspective and collaborative abilities.
